Donations collected for wreck victims

June 5, 2004

Albany- William "Rooster" Ethridge and Chris Jones died after their Ford SUV was in a rear end collision last weekend.

Jason Eubanks suffered severe head injuries, and remains in a Panama City, Florida hospital.  All three are from Lee County.

Now Rita Hamel and her friends are placing donation containers in businesses in Lee and Dougherty Counties hoping to raise money to give to the young men's families.

"When things like that happen you need to hold each other's hands and pull together that's the Christian way, and that's what we need to do, and that's what I'm going to try to do," says Hamel.

Donors can also stop by any Regions Bank and drop off contributions that will be deposited into an account in each of the three friend's name.
