Darton soccer signs seven players

Albany- It has not taken Darton soccer coach Ken Veilands to turn the Cavalier program into one of the best in the state.

And the reputation of the Cavaliers program is helping him attract some of the top players not only in our state but also in Florida.

The Darton soccer program signing seven new players this afternoon, four of whom earned first team all-state honors in high school.

Three of the the seven from Georgia and they include Westover standout Jason Therrien, Wesley Moulton who played on two state champion teams at Mount de Sales in Macon and Clay Watkins who was one of the best players in Columbus at Shaw High.

Coach Veilands has also landed four very good players from Florida including goalie Thomas Fulton had had 39 shutouts in four years at Tallahassee Leon High.

Darton also signing three other all-state performers from the Sunshin State in forwardDanny Vedder of Palm Beachers Gardens High School, Fort Pierce forward Angel Damian and forward Tyler Story of Gulf Breeze High in Pensacola.

These new signees will play their first soccer match at Darton on August 28th.
