Albany-Many of you will be driving on your summer vacation. If you take time during the year for regular car check-ups... you could save money. Minor repair jobs can turn into costly maintenance if ignored. There are plenty of things you can do yourself to prevent an expensive repair job.

Wes Taliaferro of Gillionville Auto Repair says "They can raise the hood on their vehicles. Check for cracks, or frayed spots on them. They can look at the hoses. They can also check their coolant. It's pretty simple. It's got a line there that says cool/hot on most vehicles. Check your transmission fluid and your oil and things of that nature."

Following the scheduled maintenance log in your vehicle should extend the longevity of your vehicle.
