Pearson - A South Georgia child was hit by a car, and the driver left the scene.

The accident happened around 5:00 Tuesday afternoon at 303 East Austin Avenue in Pearson. Police say 20-year-old Sharon Wiggins of Argyle was dropping off a child at the home and backed over a two-year-old on her way out. The child is in I.C.U. in a Savannah hospital with a fractured skull, bruised lung, and abraised liver.

Wiggins is charged with leaving the scene of an accident and obstruction of an officer.
