Deputy fired, under investigation

Americus-- A Sumter County deputy under investigation for theft is fired from his job.

Deputy Barry Price is a suspect in a shoplifting incident at an Americus convenience store Tuesday.

Price was suspended with pay from his job shortly after the allegations arose.

Now, Price has been fired for giving non factual information during the administrative investigation.

The GBI is still looking into the criminal allegations. No criminal charges have been filed against Price.
