New IT building for South Georgia students

May 19, 2004

Albany- Albany Technical College students are benefiting from a new Information Technology and Electronics building.

The school celebrated the opening Wednesday, though students began taking classes here at the beginning of the year. The facility cost six and a half million dollars.

"We have had information technology and electronics programs for quite some time, but as the industry changed and grew and evolved, we needed a place so that our programs could be a little more high tech," said Anthony Parker, president of Albany Tech.

Albany tech has two new programs, bio-medical technology electronics and telecommunications technology electronics.
