Bainbridge - Rita Gardner of Bainbridge has been charged with theft by taking from Southwest Georgia Oil.

Bainbridge police say Gardner had been taking money since December 2001. In all, police believe she took more than $136,000 over the past three years by using a signature stamp to issue herself checks. Some of the money was used to purchase personal items, including a car for her daughter.

She has been released from the Decatur County Jail on a $50,000 bond.
