Albany- Members of Byne Memorial Baptist Church broke ground on a new 46,000 square foot expansion Sunday.

The new addition will consist of a state-of-the-art gym, multi-purpose center, and 15 classrooms which will enable the entire school to be housed on one campus.

"That will enable us to handle a whole lot more children, and it will also provide the educational space for our Sunday School Department also," Larry Griffin, Chairman of the Phase 3 Building Committee.

The Byne expansion is expected to be complete after the first of the year.
