Thomasville - Currently the University has about 800 students and is at maximum capacity. The proposed campus would allow the university to grow to about 1600. It would be located about one mile south of Thomasville on highway 319, hopefully attracting new students from the Tallahassee area.

"We are in a position now where we are landlocked," says University President Dr. John Hutchinson. "We have completely inadequate space for our current students, let alone further growth. So we want to try to identify a location that will allow us to expand so that we can be all that we can be and do a better job of educating the citizens of this region."

Next week, the University will go before the Thomas County Commission seeking a conditional use permit for the property.
