Albany-- Wednesday night, people who live near Radium Springs got a first look at a plan to turn the area into a world class botanical gardens.

After the old Radium Springs Casino was torn down, the area was fenced off and locked up. Consultant Ronald Huffman says the springs are a magnificent natural wonder.

He showed off a master plan to redevelop the area. "As a unique natural resource there's also rare, threatned and endangered plants and animals that live there or thrive in that environment, so we have to be careful," Huffman said.

The consultants haven't figured the cost of the project. The county owns the land. Even if county leaders support the plan, there's no guarantee they could find the money to complete it.
