New mixed income housing complex takes shape

May 12, 2004

Albany - People will move into a new mixed income housing complex in downtown Albany as soon as next month. Albany Tomorrow Inc. broke ground on Ashley Chase Apartments in January. Now, construction is on schedule and on budget.

The $11,000,000 complex, behind the Civic Center, will have 132 units. 40 are public housing, and the rest are open to everyone. "At this point, the first building is already being leased and should be occupied by June of this year," said ATI President Tommy Chatmon.

The complex should be complete by December 2004.
