Louisville, Ky- Basketball Times has named Adel's Jazz Covington to their freshman all-American team, recognizing the University of Louisville standout as one of the top ten freshmen in the nation in women's college basketball.
Covington's 16 points a game scoring average was the second highest for a freshman in Louisville history.
"We are pleased the Jazz is getting this kind of recognition," said head coach Tom Collen. "Now people will realize what we knew all along, that she is one of the best players in the country. We feel fortunate that she is at Louisville because she could start for any program in the nation."
Covington was a second team all-Conference-USA selection and was named to the Conference USA's all freshmen team.
