Albany- 2nd seeded Middle Georgia got a three hit shutout from Drew Fiorenza to beat Georgia Perimeter 4-0 in the championship game of the GJCAA state tournament at the Eames Complex.
It is the 20th state title for the Warriors and their third in the last four years.
Georgia Perimeter, the sixth seed in the six team field, made it to the finals by scoring six runs in the ninth to eliminate Darton 7-6 Monday afternoon and followed that with an 8-7 win over top seed Young Harris Monday night.
The Jaguars though could not solve Middle Georgia's Drew Fiorenza who took a one-hitter into the ninth.
Middle Georgia scored two runs in the bottom of the 2nd inning to take the early lead and then scored single runs in the 6th and 7th innings.
Adam Davis drove in Will Petersen with the Warriors third run and JoJo Batten singled home tournament MVP Abel Nieves in the 7th.
Nieves was one of five Warriors to make the all-tournament team along with OF Will Petersen from Valdosta, 1B Adam Davis, OF JoJo Batten and PH Drew Fiorenza.
Darton placed three players on all tournament team with P Nick Green, OF Luke Forgione and 2B Nick Phillips.
Georgia Perimeter catcher Brian Van Bavel and Young Harris' Joey Friddle also made the all tournament team.
