Albany -- Two Dougherty County students are awarded Young Citizenship Awards.

The Southwest Georgia Exchange Club of Albany presented their annual awards to 14-year-old William Kress, an 8th grader at Robert Cross Middle School.

And to 14-year-old Johnathon Hussong, a 9th grader at South Georgia Regional Achievement Center.

They were chosen for their achievements in academics, service, and citizenship.

Award coordinator C.B. Fincher said "What we are trying to do is encourage those young students to continue on with their efforts to become useful and productive students."

Kress and Hussong were presented certificates, a dictionary and a check for 75 dollars.
