Pledge debate is classroom project

May 5, 2004

Albany- Do the words "Under God" belong in the Pledge of Allegiance?

That debate came to Albany Wednesday night.

Some Troy State students had to take sides and research the issue. They faced off at Thronateeska.

"Not having one nation under God in the pledge does not make me any less patriotic or any less religious than anybody else," said student Dena Gray.

"It's great for class, it's great publicity for the school and it's great for us as individuals," said student Mack Green.

The debate was part of a business ethics class for students at Troy State's satellite campus in Albany.
