Albany- With spring practice completed for college football teams, it is time for the coaches to get ready for plenty of barbecue as they make the spring alumni tour to talk about the 2004 football season.
The Albany Georgia Southern booster club got the scouting report for the coming season from Eagle assistant coach Greg Hill Tuesday evening.
Hill may coach wide receivers but he is to be asked by alot of Georgia Southern fans about the defensive changes.
After Georgia Southern failed to make the NCAA Division 1-AA playoffs for the first time since 1996, head coach Mike Sewak fired two assistants.
One of them was long time GSU defensive coordinator Rusty Russell.
The man who will be running the Georgia Southern defense is Joe Tresey who is bringing a aggressive, blitzing brand of defense to Statesboro.
Greg Hill said "They had fun with it. They were excited about and worked hard and it caused us some fits in the spring. It was really tough but it is going to help out both sides of the ball during the coming season."
Georgia Southern opens the 2004 season in Athens against Georgia on September 4th.
