Lowndes County-- This story starts in Jacksonville, Florida where a woman and her 10 month old son disappeared on April 22.
Friday, the woman's body was found near Gainesville, Florida. Now investigators are searching the Lowndes County landfill for her child's body. They believe 10 month old Jayquan Mosely was murdered and dumped into garbage that ended up in Lowndes County at the Onyx Landfill.
Chief Rick Townsend of the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said, "It has been done successfully before, and all we can do is try our best."
"We've got about 45 volunteers out here and we're treating this as if it was our 10 month baby in that landfill that we're looking for," said Lowndes County Sheriff's Capt. J.D. Yeager.
Investigators stopped searching when the landfill closed at 5:00, but will resume their efforts at 8:30 Tuesday morning.
Police won't comment on how Lynda Wilkes was killed, but sources tell us the child was smothered in a garbage bag.
