Brentwood does it again, ACS runs away with title

Albany--Despite a late charge by the Tiftarea Lady Panthers, the Brentwood Eagles went on to win their second straight AA State Title with 87 total points.  Brentwood's Amy Jones finished tied with Tiftarea's Kade Rodgers for the individual high point champion.  Jones and Rodgers tallied 32.5 points each.

Rodgers won state titles in the 200 meters, 400 meters and 4 x 100 relay and finished second in the long jump.  Jones earned her points with first place finishes in triple jump, long jump and mile relay.  Jones also finished second in the 300 meter hurdles.

In Triple-A, Augusta Christian cruised to their first ever state title in track and field by posting 86 points.  The Stratford Academy Eagles were 14 points back with 72 points, one better than third place Deerfield-Windsor.

Deerfield-Windsor junior Jon Jon Taylor claimed the individual high point championship with 33 points.  Taylor won state titles in the triple jump, high jump, 4 x 100 relay and 100 meter dash.
