Doerun--A South Georgia town threw a party with a purpose Saturday .

Doerun held it's annual May Day festival. The event is a town tradition and raises money to make improvements to the city.

"We have donated to the volunteer fire department and do things for the schools if they need donation we just donate back into the community," says Wendy Wheeler of the Deorun Booster Club.

Last year's festival raised more than $15,000. You can still join in on the fun there will be plenty of food and live entertainment until midnight Saturday.
