Albany-- Downtown continues to grow, as another business holds a grand opening and ribbon cutting for their new building.

Albany Bank and Trust cuts a special ribbon made of 100 $5.00 bills. AB&T's new branch bank on Pine Avenue is next door to the Courthouse, right across the street from the Government Building. Another business blossoming as the revitalization of downtown Albany continues to bear fruit.

Mayor Willie Adams said "Downtown is the hub of activity. It makes it convenient for all the people who live, and eat, and work down here."

Chamber of Commerce Tim Martin said "It's economic vitality, it's excitement. It's the private sector. All of those things are important to growing a community."

Albany Bank and Trust is five years old today. With $170 million in assets and now three branch locations, they see downtown as the place to be in Albany.

President Bob Lee said, "Look at what's happened down here in the last couple of years. I think it shows that what's going on down here will continue, and we want to be a part of it."

Albany Bank and Trust donated the special 500 dollar ribbon they cut to the First Tee golf program.
