Thomasville - "The pickings are slim," say Jeff Allen. A career military man, he's is now looking for a second career in Information Technology, and he's looking here in Thomasville.

Allen says, "I had the job security being in the military. It's the uncertainty of the civilian sector that's an issue."

The only issue Shanda Scott has is finding a job that will allow her to provide for her children. She says, "I'm just really interested in finding a job right now, because I have two kids, and I'm just a single mother trying to make it."

As are many others at the job fair. Here are a few tips to follow when looking for a job. Make the job search process easier on yourself. Dress appropriately for the job you're applying for, bring a resume listing all your qualifications and research the company you're interested in applying with before you arrive.

And the most important tip of all? Allen says, "I'll keep searching, never give up." Never give up on yourself.

About 30 businesses were present at the Job fair. The Holiday Inn Express will be taking applications for another week. They plan to hire about 30 new employees.
