Albany- Deerfield-Windsor's Jon Jon Taylor won three events as a sophomore at the GISA state track meet.
This year, Taylor is not only looking to defend all three titles, she is hoping to win a few more.
Taylor won the 100 meter, long jump and triple jump at last year's state meet.
Taylor has a good shot of defending those three titles since she is likely to be the top seed in the 100 meter and triple jump and second in the long jump.
The only difference this year than last is that Taylor will also be running both relays for the Lady Knights on Saturday and hoping to win those events.
It will be a busy two days for Taylor but she says she is ready for the challenge.
Jon Jon Taylor said "I feel like I have prepared myself coming here after school out to practice. Even during my weight training class I come out here to practice. I am trying to get ready for it and I feel a little prepared for it."
She competes in five events but Taylor says the ones she enjoys the most are the 100 meter dash and the triple jump.
Taylor said "There is a special technique that you have to go by in order to get the jump right and get your steps right. And, alot of people have trouble doing it. I caught on well to it and I got right and I am glad that I did because I like it alot."
The GISA boys and girls state track meet begins with the field events and 2 mile run on Friday. The finals in track will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
