Students earn sweet reward

April 28, 2004

Thomasville - Students at Cross Creek Elementary School in Thomasville got free icees today for making their accelerated reading goal.

Third Grader Megan Johnson read eight books in just four weeks.  She says, "I think it's cool, because it's a great way to eat something on a hot day.  You get to celebrate it, and you get a treat."

Students that didn't make their goal last nine weeks still have a chance to get a reward at the end of the year if they meet their reading goal.
