Albany -- Partners in excellence are paying off for Dougherty County schools.

These academic achievement trophies are a product of the partnership between Westover High School and Regions Bank.

Westover High School Principal Gene Melvin said " We hope it inspires them. We hope it inspires other kids to see them on stage and to be awarded for their academic awards."

Regions Bank President Luke Flatt said "It's a small way that we can play a part in this. "

The Dougherty County School system has over 150 partners in excellence sponsors.

40 new businesses and organizations sponsored an area school this year.  The Dougherty County schools thanked those partners in excellence at their annual awards breakfast Wednesday morning.
