Albany- The Columbus Wardogs have come to Albany.
Not to play a game but to get fans to come watch them play in Columbus.
The Wardogs game on May 8th in Columbus against the Florida Firecats is Albany/Dougherty night.
Team representatives are in Albany this week spreading the word about Albany/Dougherty night to local businesses.
One selling point for the team is Wardogs receiver Adrian Cockfield.
The former Dougherty High and Albany State standout is the second leading receiver in the AF2 football league.
Head coach John Fourcade said "He is our star guy. We go to him as much as we can but he is just such an phenomenal athlete and good person at that that it is easy to have those guys on your team."
Those who are trying to bring arena football to Albany are hoping that alot of local fans will make the trip to the Wardogs game in Columbus on May 8th.
Supporters of an arena football team in Albany hope local fans will enjoy the game so much they will want to come watch a team play here.
