Love Affair attracts thousands

April 29, 2004

Tifton--This weekend Tifton is hosting its premier annual community event-- The Tifton Love Affair.

Fullwood Park will be the site of most of the events. Planners expect the Love Affair to attract 30,000 people this year. The festival has changed a lot in its 24-years.

Wayne Jones of the ABAC Arts Connection says, "It's just grown a lot from what was a small kid's fair on the ABAC campus to now a four day event."

The Love Affair features all kinds of entertainment for the whole family, and everything's free except one fundraising concert Saturday night.

Here's a look at some of the events:

  • An exhibit at the Tifton Museum opens at five o'clock.
  • Also tonight-- jazz music at the Myon Hotel
  • A comedic juggler at the Tift Theater
  • The fine arts market opens Friday at Fullwood Park
  • A parade ends with a street dance Friday night
  • Saturday and Sunday enjoy the arts market
  • Entertainment from children's music to Celtic music to African dance and the Georgia Satellites in concert Saturday night.
