Agents say that police responded to the apartment because of a burglar alarm. Officers found the back door broken open and went inside. That's where they detected a strong odor of marijuana, and saw pot in plain view.More >>

Albany -- An Albany man robs a store Monday morning just two blocks from where he lives. The store clerk and witnesses recognized him and sent the police to arrest him.
A man wearing a mask and carrying a small handgun burst into the Daylight Grocery on South Jackson Street just before noon. But the clerk recognized him as a customer who comes in often.
The clerk said the robber took five dollars laying on the counter and ran. As he left he took off his mask, and witnesses told police where he lived, just two blocks away.
They arrested 22-year-old Vincent Callaham at his home. He is charged with armed robbery and is being held in the Dougherty County jail.
