    Work is now underway to widen about two, and half miles of Carpenter Road in Tifton.When construction is complete, there will be two lanes of traffic in each direction, plus a center turn lane with curbs and gutters on both sides of the road.Drivers are encouraged to use an alternate route.The work is expected to be complete in October.Copyright 2014 WALB.
