Valdosta- It is not often you get to walk a fairway next to a PGA champion.
But that is just what happened for lucky fans at the Kinderlou Forest Golf Club Friday afternoon in Valdosta.
1997 PGA champion Davis Love the third and his brother Mark were among the first to play a round at the new Kinderlou Forest Golf Club.
When they are not player/caddy on the PGA tour, Davis and Mark Love are designing golf courses with their company Love Enterprises and Associates.
The Kinderlou Forest course designed by Love Enterprises is already being hailed as one of the best in the Southeast and expected to make the best new courses among every major golf publication.
Davis Love III said "This area of Georgia doesn't have a championship, well-respected golf course. We feel like this is the kind of course that can get best new course in Georgia, best new course in the country, best new in its category and we are trying to build a great championship golf course that this area hasn't really had in a long time."
Davis Love III's Love Enterprises also re-designed Forest Oaks Country Club in Greensboro North Carolina.
The Kinderlou Forest golf course, which is part of the Langdale Company, is located on highway 84 west in Valdosta.
