ASU signs scholars

April 23, 2004

Albany -- It was signing day for some MVP's at Albany State University Friday.

The school signed up 18 new presidential scholars. The scholars are all high school seniors at the top of their class. And as a reward for their hard work each will receive full scholarships to ASU, money for books and a new computer.

"I'm very proud to have this scholarship because not a lot of people are able to get it and for me to get it really distinguishing for me and my school," says Brad McCray a Dougherty High senior.

"I know my parents were not financially able to send me to school and with this they will have no worries," says Frenise Venisee a Dougherty High senior.

The students will receive the scholarship money for all four years of their college career as long as they maintain a 3.0 grade point average.
