Albany - Phoebe Putney is running its MRI center until Friday, even though the state forced the hospital to temporarily close the imaging center. The Department of Community Health is allowing Phoebe to use the open Advanced MRI unit on Meredyth Drive until the end of the week, so patients can be shifted to other centers and not inconvenienced.

A recent state investigation showed the imaging center is not properly licensed to use the MRI unit. The state forced Phoebe to close the doors and to apply for the proper licensing which could take up to 130 days. Until then, Phoebe is moving patients and employees to other Phoebe centers.
