Valdosta - South Georgia drug agents helped bust an international drug smuggling ring.

A Lowndes county deputy pulled over a car on I-75 Monday morning and found 14 pounds of cocaine in the trunk. The driver, 41-year-old Robert Daveiaar and passenger, 39-year-old Raymond Albertus, are charged with cocaine trafficking.

"It's most definitely a smuggling ring," said Lt. Jim Hightower. "The individuals flew into Miami from a latin country down in South America, and apparently they were headed toward the Atlanta Georgia area."

The drugs have a street value of about $638,000.00.
