Camilla- Saturday dozens of Democrats listened to speeches from the candidates hoping to represent the Second Congressional District of Georgia.

Dr. Constance Burkes of Albany, and Ashley Collier and Rick Lassiter both of Valdosta were elected to go to the convention this summer and cast ballots for Senator John Kerry as the Democratic Presidential nominee.

"The Democratic National Convention is an experience unlike anything I've ever done and it will probably be one of the greatest experiences of my life. Casting the ballot is the important part, but there's so much more that goes on there," says Lassiter.

"I'm so excited about going to be a part of making a difference as we look at putting Kerry in the White House. Not if but when, and he's going in, he's going in," adds Dr. Burke.

All three including male alternate Corey Wimberly will attend the convention this July in Boston, Massachusetts.
