Stunt man performs for crowd

April 17, 2004

Albany- Bubba Blackwell is known nationwide for breaking Evel Knievel's record of jumping over 15 buses.

In 2001, he suffered a near-fatal crash, and has since began to tone down his shows. Now, he's traveling the country performing "street-fighter" style motorcycle stunts. [

"One of the neatest complements that I get after a show is not that's the world's most amazing stunt, I can't believe that. The most flattering thing to me is you ought to be ashamed of yourself for getting paid for having that much fun," he says.

Blackwell says he hasn't completely left the world of stunt jumping, and is having fun doing his shows and is looking forward to his new action figures that are set to hit the market at the end of the year.
