Lee County-- A long time South Georgia paramedic earns a surprise recognition. Lee County EMS Director Bobby Watkins is Director of the Year for a 27-county region.

Watkins serves in one of the fastest growing counties in South Georgia, but he says his success is due to his employees.

Bobby Watkins says, "Well, I have got a good staff and I think that is what makes a good manager. Very little leadership with these people. They know what to do they are really good at what they do and it makes my job a lot easier."

Watkins did not know he was receiving the honor until the awards ceremony Thursday night in Moultrie. This is the first time he has won the award.
