Students clean up Police Station yard

April 16, 2004

Albany -- Turner Job Corps students spend part of the day cleaning up Albany.

The landscaping class trimmed the yard around the Albany Police District Two station on South Madison Street. The Police mentor the students, so this is their way of saying thanks.

Turner Job Corps Business Community Liaison Courtenay Thomas said "It's a great way not only to help our community, but also to give them some experience in the things they are learning."

Other Job corps students did community service projects Friday, as Part of National Youth Service Day.
