Flowers introduces new bread

April 14, 2004

Thomasville - Flowers Foods Bakeries introduced the new Wheat'n Soy bread earlier this month and it's now in a grocery store near you.

The soy bread offers a hearty serving of protein in every slice, a tastier choice than tofu or soy nuts.

Mary Krier, Director of Corporate Communications says, "Researchers have found that soy protein offers a number of benefits reducing the risk of heart disease and lowering cholesterol and other types of benefits, and people are looking for ways to just eat healthier."

Wheat 'n Soy follows the recent release of Nature's Own Wheat 'n Fiber bread. A bread Flowers developed that is low in carbohydrates.
