Budget cuts hard on So. Georgia school systems

April 12, 2004

Camilla- A Mitchell County group is worried how state cuts are going to affect their school system.

Monday night, some concerned citizens gathered to come up with ideas to take to the Mitchell County School Board Tuesday night.

They know it may take more taxpayer money to help the problem.

"If we would increase that tax by two mils, doing that it would afford us the amount of monies that we are deficient."

Many school systems are struggling to find a way to compensate for getting less money from the state each year.
