Albany -- Albany police are looking for a man who hit his girlfriend and may have set her apartment on fire.

They are searching for  25-year-old Clarence Griffin the Third, for aggravated assault.

Investigators say Wednesday night he hit his girlfriend, Latasha Kennedy, then drove off in her car.

Last night, her apartment on Sands Drive was set on fire. Lt. Kenn Singleton of the Albany Police said "We would like to solicit the public's help in locating this person. If anyone knows his where abouts , give the Albany Police Department a call."

Kennedy was not home when her apartment was set on fire.

The blaze caused about twenty thousand dollars damage.
