Vanda M. Wilson, 71, of Albany, died Friday at Pine Hill Nursing Home in Dooly County following an illness. Her funeral service will be Monday at 11:00 AM at St. Teresa's Catholic Church. The Rev. Finbar Stanton will officiate.
Her remains will be cremated following the service and they will be buried at Crown Hill Cemetery on Tuesday at 11:00 AM.
A native of Yugoslavia, she received her United States citizenship. She was a member of St. Teresa's Catholic Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband Gerald Lee Wilson, who was killed while on active duty in Vietnam; and by her two sons: Gerald Lee Wilson, Jr, and David Wilson.
She is survived by a grandson: Jerry Wilson, Albany; her father-in-law: James A. Wilson, Albany; 4 sisters-in-law: Shirley Wilson, Albany, Diane Wilson, Worth County, Julie Ramsey, Albany, Betty McGee, Leesburg; 3 brothers-in-law: James G. Wilson, Spanaway, WA, Alvin "Chip" Wilson, Leesburg, Michael Wilson, Duluth, GA.
