Albany- The Boys & Girls Club takes many kids and teaches them qualities that later make them mentors.
Thursday night's annual awards banquet honored many members who show good citizenship and achieve in school, at home and in church. Seven students were recognized as Junior youths of the year and three were selected as Senior youths of the year.
"I'm a good role model to them," said Joseph Sheffield, a sophomore at Dougherty Comprehensive High School who received a Senior Youth of the Year award. "I show them leadership and instill in them what they need to do that's good. I show them mistakes that I made and then correct them."
Brandon Keaton of Westover High School and Michael Wilson of Monroe High School are also Senior youths of the year.
