Albany - Wednesday, Darton College students displayed their paintings, glass works, and 3-dimensional creations at a college art fair and contest.

Student David Griffin says a peer inspired him to paint this unique American flag. "I was in an art appreciation class, and we were talking about Jasper Johns' flag and how you can portray the flag in many different ways. Someone said something unpatriotic and it made me aggravated. So, I decide to go paint me a patriotic picture," said Griffin.

Ukrainian exchange student, Olga Nazarkina, won first prize for her painting "Birds on a Wire."
