Leesburg- A Lee County developer can finally begin work on a Leesburg development that could add 3,000 residents to the city.
Tuesday night, the city council rezoned this land off of Robert B. Lee Drive so John Leach can begin work on Lee Farms. Some nearby residents oppose the project that will include a shopping center, businesses, apartments, town homes, and houses.
After a public hearing, there was only vote against the zoning change. The city council must approve each phase of the project to ensure the city can handle the growth.
