Berrien County - A South Georgia man was killed in a high speed police chase over the weekend.
A Lakeland police officer tried to pull over 20-year-old Timothy Kevin Dubose Saturday night for reckless driving and burning rubber. Dubose wouldn't stop, so the officer chased him for about 8 miles down Highway 129 into Ray City. Dubose lost control of his vehicle around a curve and was ejected from the vehicle.
"We do know that the driver was operating on a suspended drivers license and he did have a warrant for failure to appear out of Lenox Georgia," said Lakeland Police Chief B.J. Davis.
Investigators believe Dubose reached speeds up to 120 miles per hour at one point in the chase. A passenger in his vehicle, 19-year-old Hank Michael Stone of Ray City, was not seriously injured.
