Bond doubtful for accused murderer

April 5, 2004

Sumter County-- It's unlikely bond will be set for an Americus man accused of murdering a former co-worker.

Thirty-four-year-old Brian Lee Morgan was scheduled to go before a judge late today. Fifty-seven-year-old Vivian Wright was strangled in her home Monday night, and was found the next day by a friend.

Wright was a lab technician at Sumter Regional Hospital. That's where investigators think she met Morgan, who at one time, was a janitor there.

Investigators think Morgan murdered Wright while looking for drug money.
