Colquitt County- Twisted metal and shattered glass is all that's left of the 2001 Dodge Ram the two teens were riding in.

State troopers say 18 year old Jessica McCarty and her 14 year old brother Harold McCarty, both of Fitzgerald, were traveling north on GA 35 in Colquitt County around 2 AM.

A deer ran into their path, and when Jessica swerved to miss it, she lost control of the vehicle. The truck hit the ditch, overturned, and ran into a pine tree before coming to rest on the passenger side.

She was ejected, her brother was partially ejected. The 14 year old did not survive his injuries. His sister was taken to the hospital and is being treated for her injuries.

Troopers say she will be charged with failure to maintain a lane and driving in violation of license restrictions.
