Colquitt County- 24 year old Ibarra "Ruben" Ciriaco, of Colquitt County, was arrested for the murder of 66 year old Betty Lane.
Sheriff Al Whittington says Ciriaco used a pellet gun to rob the woman at her Overlook Drive mobile home and then beat her to death.
"A couple of the neighbors where the suspect was staying at the time had overheard him saying what he had done and had told this to a relative. I think this relative basically went to this residence to confirm what he had heard," says Whittington.
When that family member found Lane's body, he called the police. Ciriaco will be charged with murder, robbery, burglary, and assault.
