Pearson - One of the largest employers in Atkinson County is having trouble staying in business.
One hundred and twenty employees from Cady Industries are out of a job. The company manufactures polypropylene bags and materials.
Plant managers say foreign competition and trade is driving them out of business, and more layoffs will be made next week.
"I'd been here 16 years and this is really a family to me and I've lost my job, I'm going to have to find another one or go to school and do something different because unemployment's not gonna pay forever," said Maxine Corbitt.
Workers from the Georgia Department of Labor met with the employees who were laid off and are trying to help them find other employment.
