Firefighter out on bond

March 26, 2004

Albany -- The Albany firefighter charged with child pornography has been released on bond.

David Lockett was released from the Dougherty County jail on 20,000 dollars bond. He is on house arrest and must wear an electronic monitor.

Lockett can only leave his home to attend church three times a week. Lockett is also ordered to stay away from anyone under the age of 18, even his own children.

The Dougherty District Attorney's office opposed Lockett's release in a bond hearing Monday, saying that he might try to destroy evidence in the case if he were free.

Lockett is on suspension with pay from the Albany Fire Department.
