Storage building destroyed by fire

March 25, 2004

Albany-- A shed behind a storage company goes up in flames, sending a huge column of smoke over the city.

The shed behind Security Storage and Moving Service on Roosevelt Avenue was burned by the fire. It was reported by a neighbor who saw the flames shortly after one O-clock.

The plywood boxes are used to ship packages overseas, and stored under the shed when empty. Company owner Robert Tindell was relieved the fire did so little damage.

Fire fighters say the cause of the fire is undetermined. Tindell said vagrants are often seen in the alley behind the shed, and they might have started the fire.
